COVID-19 COVER


From the 5th August 2020, our policies now include the following cover in relation to COVID-19 on our Specialist HIV, Already Left UK, No Minimum Residency and Long Stay Trip products.
If you already have an existing policy purchased between 13th March 2020 and the 5th August 2020 COVID-19 claims are still fully excluded.

The NEW COVID-19 cover includes:

Trip Cancellation covered up to £3,000 or £5,000 depending on the type and level of cover chosen (subject to policy excess)
Please note: Our Already Left UK policies does not cover any cancellation claims


• If you or a traveling companion becomes ill or injured, or develops a medical condition before your trip (including being diagnosed with an epidemic or a pandemic disease such as COVID-19).

• You or a traveling companion is quarantined before your trip by order or other requirement of a government or public authority, based on their suspicion that you or a traveling companion, specifically, have been exposed to a contagious disease (including an epidemic or a pandemic disease such as COVID-19). This does not include any quarantine that applies generally or broadly to some or all of a population or geographical area, or that applies based on where the person is traveling to, from or through.

• If you have to cancel your trip as a result of the Travel Advice Unit of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), the World Health Organisation (WHO) or similar body issuing a directive prohibiting all travel or all but essential travel to the country or specific area or event to which you were booked to travel, providing the directive came into force after you purchased this insurance or booked the trip (whichever is the later).

• If you have to curtail your trip as a result of the Travel Advice Unit of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), the World Health Organisation (WHO) or similar body issuing a directive prohibiting all travel or all but essential travel to the country or specific area or event to which you are travelling, providing the directive came into force after you left your home to commence the trip.

Emergency Medical Expenses covered up to £5 million or £10 million depending on the type and level of cover chosen (subject to policy excess)

• While on your trip, you have a sudden, unexpected illness, injury, or medical condition that could cause serious harm if it is not treated (including being diagnosed with an epidemic or a pandemic disease such as COVID-19). You must not have travelled against your home country´s government advice or against local authority advice at your trip destination.
